Lunching with the Locals

Category: Boulder Blog

Post Date: Thursday, February 8, 2018

It’s a special time of year for Downtown Boulder Partnership where business owners from across the downtown community come together to eat, network, and reflect on the accomplishments of past year. This year’s Annual Luncheon was especially exciting because... I was there!

I was actually lucky enough to meet some of the people who are behind downtown’s success and find out from restaurant owners to city council members what makes it special. To mix things up and have a little fun, I asked some of the most insider insiders to give me a peek into some of their favorite spots in downtown. And as someone who hasn't lived in Boulder long, I was interested in the places that true Boulder locals go to people watch or take it all in.

I asked four of our downtown Boulder Board Members to give me the scoop on their top spots… This wasn't an easy one for them to give up, but here they are:

According to Peter Waters, owner of T/ACO, his go to spot is Frasca where you can really get an “in the bubble” view of Boulder.

City Councilman Bob Yates suggested that if you want to hang out with Boulder locals, head to Pearl Street’s West End between 10th and 11th from Salt to Pasta Jays

Bing Chou (pictured above) from MojoTech says the front patio at Pizzeria Locale is a great spot to people watch on summer days when everyone is outside enjoying the patio.

And Bonnie Dahl from Savvy on Pearl (winner of the The George Karakehian Community Service Award for her continuous work with various organizations throughout Boulder) suggested The Med’s patio courtyard for her favorite ambiance.

You better believe that as soon as the weather warms up, you’ll be able to find me at all these spots learning to become a true Boulder local!
