Discover Your New Favorite Bite Downtown!

Downtown Boulder is home to some of the best cuisine in Colorado. This summer, we have decided to take you on a deep dive into the best places to eat while exploring downtown. Summer is the perfect time to explore new cuisines and try out downtown’s many food carts, old and new. To help you get started, we’ve created a guide to downtown Boulder’s food carts to add to your must-dine list this season!

Starting off strong, what better place to grab a summer bite than Chiri’s Momo Delight? They specialize in handmade steamed momos and Himalayan dumplings. With your choice of chicken, beef or veggie, each dumpling is incredibly delicious and the perfect comfort food! They are located on the 1300 block of Pearl Street near the Visitor Information Center.

Nothing screams summer more than ice cream! Head over to Glacier Homemade Ice Cream & Gelato cart for a sweet treat. Known for their handcrafted ice cream, they are the perfect stop on your downtown food cart tour. With over 1000 flavors created to date, they certainly have something for everyone. Be sure to try out The Funky Donkey (peanut butter ice cream with Oreos and fudge) and the Lemon Gelato! You can find Glaciers on the 1400 block of Pearl Street.

Looking for a healthy and quick bite? Boulder Bowls is the place to go. Known for their home-cooked style, they have been adored by locals and visitors alike since they opened  in 2011. Their specialties are chicken curry, Cajun sausage or veggie bowls. You can find Boulder Bowls on the 1300 block of Pearl Street.

Arguably one of the most classic food carts downtown is Fast Eddie’s World Famous Chicago Hot Dogs! Eddie’s brings the taste of Chicago right to Boulder with their incredible hot dogs served year-round! You can find this food cart on the 1300 block of Pearl Street. They are the perfect summer snack while strolling around downtown.

Another local favorite is Kingcomo’s Quesadilla cart, located on the 1200 block of Pearl Street! Serving over 10 styles of quesadillas, this is the perfect place if you’re in the mood for a cheesy bite. They also have vegan and gluten-free options upon request. Make sure to try out their Tikka Masalada, a quesadilla with Tikka Masala sauce, rice, veggies and mozzarella - it’s amazing!

For another fun summer treat, check out the Sunshine Shave Ice cart on the 1200 block of Pearl Street. With a sweet taste of Hawaii here in the heart of downtown Boulder, this will be your new favorite stop while downtown. They serve finely shaved ice with delicious syrups of your choice. This is the best way to cool down on a warm summer day! 

Last but not least, we have Freddie’s Hot Dog Stand. As downtown’s longest-standing food truck, Freddie’s has been a well-known name since 1980. With Vienna Beef hot dogs, pork brats, polish sausages, turkey dogs and even veggie dogs, you are surely able to have the hot dogs of your dreams here downtown. Find Freddie’s on the corner of Broadway and Pearl.                                                                                                                                        

While a food cart may not be your typical choice for a lunch or dinner outing, be sure to head downtown and check out these incredible, locally-owned spots. They’ve been tried and true for years and have become cherished here downtown. We promise they will fuel your day of adventuring in Boulder!
