Details

"Dark Light" features handwoven glass beadwork by Salihah Moore, who creates intricate tapestries, clothing, intriguing faces and more as she listens to interviews and audio books about physics, consciousness and the nature of reality. These subjects of science and energy have heavily influenced her pixelated work that is currently inspired by the union of opposites. Visitors are given black light flashlights to shine on the pieces, bringing different shades and dimensions to the surface. The exhibit, on display through Aug. 25, is open Tuesday-Friday from 11a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday from 10a.m.-4 p.m; The New Local's Annex, 713 Pearl St., Boulder; Entrance is free, all work is for sale; thenewlocal.org.
