Poetry's hot! Do you read it? Write it? Wonder what the heck the hype is about? Curious if you can learn to decipher the emotional drive behind each and every odd stanza written by beloved poets here in Colorado? There's nothing like seeing poetry embodied on-stage and sharing in the mutual curiosity and passion for the vital topics poetry examines. Sometimes showing up to an open-mic is simply a bridge into a wonderful and odd conversation you've been dying to have. Poetry is sexy, essential, and fun. Open-mics should be too. So, on December 15th from 6-8pm come read a poem or two!

Edy is a Poet and Creative Strategist local to Colorado. She's gone to quite a few open-mics in her day, wherein she thought to herself "hmmm this could be sexier and more fun!" Which is why she's hoping to give hosting them a try (but please be nice if it's not sexy and fun). Edy explores womanhood, power and binaries in her writing and thinking. She's the author of Mother May I (awaiting publication) which "takes a long, hard look at what it means to be a woman in 21st century American society. In a voice that is blunt and darkly wise, Guy torques the mother metaphor toward every possible direction of undoing." She's the writer of Lacuna Matata, an on-going entity that's part critique/part poetic investigation. Edy wants you to know that she is excited to read alongside you!
