Join us for a doll-making adventure in our Modern Mini Rag Doll class. Guest instructor, Jen Mabbett, of Let’s Go For A Ride Handmade, will guide students through the entire doll-making process. Students will get to explore with an extensive assortment of natural fibers including wool, fleece, linen, yarn, and fabric in various substrates. We’ll demonstrate finger knitting, embroidery, and other techniques that students will learn to incorporate into their dolls.

Students will begin by searching within themselves as part of the design process and will begin to get a sense of what speaks to them and brings forth meaning in creating a doll that personifies love and uniqueness. Students will leave class with one completed doll plus accessories, such as skirts, dresses, scarves, purses, leggings, etc. and the courage, skill, and know-how to continue in their creative adventures.

All materials, as well as a healthy lunch and nourishing snacks, will be provided and are included in the price of the class. Students are encouraged to bring meaningful fabric or trims to add to their dolls. Full use of Fabricate’s sewing machines, tools, and all items one could dream of to include in the making of one of a kind doll. Dolls can be made to keep or give as a special gift – these would be perfect for an Easter Basket!
