History of Persian New Year:

The Persian New Year has been celebrated in Iran and the Persian diaspora for more than 3,000 years. Nowruz celebrates arrival of spring as a victory over darkness. This celebration begins on the spring equinox, marking the first day of Farvardin, the first month of the Iranian solar calendar.
