Sun Jr. was born from the light. The bastard son of a psychedelic-fueled desert orgy that no one can claim, matching rumor with resemblance to who may or may not have been there, be it The Doors, Hendrix, Neil Young or the Grateful Dead. Influenced by the sounds of our forefathers from Sun Records to Sub Pop, Sun Jr. is always adapting and blending the sounds of our ancestors with those kindred cousins like My Morning Jacket, Alabama Shakes, Lord Huron, Father John Misty, Natural Child, Khruangbin and Leon Bridges. Both familiar and fresh, there is an intrinsic feel to Sun Jr.'s blend of Rocky Mountain PsychadeliCana, borrowing from American folk, Western, soul, retro rock and modern psychedelia; the band flows effortlessly in and out of ethereal space mellodies, dark surf swells and backwood foot-stompers.
