October 20 - 22, 2023  |  Throughout Downtown

Take Part in an Exploration of Place!
For one weekend, October 20-22, 2023, the downtown Boulder district will be transformed into a laboratory of co-created placemaking* activations involving collaborations between various stakeholders (e.g. community members, local government, and private sector organizations). Downtown will become an interactive and engaging environment that fosters social interaction, cultural exchange, and creative expression.

*Congress for New Urbanism defines Placemaking as the process of creating quality places where people want to live, work, play, and learn in.

The [placeholder] festival seeks to activate multiple places and spaces within the downtown district by partnering with the community in the design, programming, and implementation of the event. The aim of the festival is to promote community engagement, social cohesion, and economic development by creating a vibrant and attractive space that draws people together and encourages them to participate in creating a sense of ownership and pride in downtown Boulder.

The festival will feature a range of activities and experiences, such as art exhibits, performances, workshops and design charrettes, and temporary installations that engage the senses and encourage exploration of the space. The success of [placeholder] relies on effective collaboration and communication among all stakeholders, including local residents, businesses, and community groups. By involving a diverse range of perspectives and interests, the festival can create a sense of belonging and promote the collective ownership of public spaces, leading to long-term positive impacts throughout the community.
