Boulder’s Favorite Outdoor Summer Concert Series Returns June 15th
Downtown Boulder’s Bands on the Bricks kicks off the ten week season June 15th with The Quemando Salsa Orchestra and a beer/wine/margarita garden
BOULDER, CO, June10, 2011 – From June 15 – August 17, Wednesday nights on the Pearl Street Mall are filled with the sound of music - from oldies to alternative and everything in between. Bands on the Bricks is Boulder County's premiere outdoor summer concert series taking place on the one-and-only Pearl Street Mall. This year, concert goers will enjoy ten weeks of free concerts kicking off with The Quemando Salsa Orchestra. Quemando is one of Colorado's hottest salsa bands, born and bred in Boulder. The performers have been together over six years and are a cultural culmination of artists from Peru, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Mexico and Colorado.
Also performing this season is perennial favorite the Hazel Miller Band, who will entertain audiences on June 29. On August 10, Fierce Bad Rabbit will perform. This local group received national attention earlier this year after their performance at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas.

June 29 Hazel Miller Band

Returning this year is the wildly successful Bands on the Bricks Beer Garden which will also feature wine and margaritas (all $5/glass). The beer garden will open every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and concerts will start at 7 p.m. in front of the Boulder County Courthouse on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall. This year, Bands on the Bricks is one of five Zero Waste Downtown Boulder, Inc. events.
