LPM designation is commissioned through the International Downtown Association (IDA)
Boulder, CO [June 10, 2022] – Terri Takata-Smith, VP of Marketing at the Downtown Boulder Partnership, has recently obtained the designation of Certified Leader in Place Management (LPM) from the International Downtown Association (IDA). She joins a community of professionals who demonstrate the knowledge and skills to manage and lead a place management organization.
“Over the past two years in particular, the field of place management has played such an important role in keeping communities connected – both virtually and once again in person,” said Takata-Smith. “Place management professionals from across the nation band together for support, encouragement and sharing of best practices. The International Downtown Association has been a tremendous resource. I was inspired by colleagues from across the nation who share a passion for place management and obtaining the LPM certification holds me personally accountable to a certain level of excellence that I hope will benefit Downtown Boulder as we bring our downtown back to life.”
To become an LPM certificant, Takata-Smith met eligibility requirements, passed a rigorous examination, pledged to uphold IDA’s Code of Ethics and committed to ongoing professional development in the practice of place management.
The LPM certification program provides professionals the ability to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of the place management profession while also maintaining a commitment to ethical conduct and personal and professional growth.
