Following the run, participants and spectators will enjoy a performance by 90s cover band, the JV3 during Bands on the Bricks
[Boulder, CO] July 1, 2014. This year’s Pearl Street Mile takes place on Wednesday, July 9th and features male and female competitive waves, along with an open wave, and a kids’ half-mile. In addition, there is a downtown business wave with teams of three competing for bragging rights and a traveling trophy. This year’s business wave includes teams from Newton Running Company, Egg Strategy, Attention Homes and more.
The 17th annual Pearl Street Mile welcomes members of Boulder’s elite running community, as well as running (and walking) enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. The race starts and finishes on Pearl & 14th streets. The first wave kicks off at 6:30 p.m.
Online registration (DowntownBoulderRaces.com) closes at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 7th. On Tuesday, July 8th, runners can register at the Boulder Running Company from 3 – 7 p.m. The race entry fee through July 8th is $20 (ages 2-11) and $25 adults. Race day registration ($25 ages 2-11 and $30 adults) will be held from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the race site (14th Street just south of the Pearl Street Mall). All entries include a race t-shirt and a beer coupon for the Bands on the Bricks Beer Garden OR Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
At the conclusion of the race, participants and spectators are invited to celebrate at Bands on the Bricks with a special performance by 90s cover band, The JV3 who will take the stage (on the 1300 block) at 7 p.m. Downtown Boulder’s Beer/Wine/Margarita Garden opens at 5:30 p.m. featuring brews by Avery and Rio Grande margaritas.
The Pearl Street Mile and the-just-completed Heart and Sole 10K (June 29th) make up the 2014 Downtown Boulder Race Series. In partnership with BRC Events, runners who compete in both races are eligible for cash prizes provided by BRC Events.
The Pearl Street Mile is produced by Downtown Boulder, Inc. (DBI) and presented by Newton Running with support from the Daily Camera, Broadway Suites, City of Boulder Parking Services, Boulder Running Company and Eldorado Natural Spring Water.
