“We were excited by the incredible response to last year’s event,” said Sean Maher, Downtown Boulder’s executive director.  “The feedback from both attendees and our downtown retailers and restaurants was wonderful.” Longtime Boulder resident, Marilyn Hass commented after last year’s show, “You couldn’t help but be impressed with the quality of shopping in Downtown Boulder.”   Lilie Germain, owner of Violette and Lilli added,  " The synergy and energy that developed from coming together with other downtown retailers was amazing. Fashion Under the Flatirons shows the diversity of fashion throughout the city.  We have an incredible variety of clothing retailers downtown and this event is the perfect opportunity to preview a variety of fashions for men, women, the young and those who are young at heart."

The event starts at 7:30 p.m. with a silent auction. The runway show kicks off at 8:30 p.m. and features professional models, along with a few locals who will also participate.  Downtown  Boulder’s Voodoo Hair Lounge will style the models’ hair. Attendees will get a look at spring fashion lines including  sportswear, vacationwear, evening and business attire, as well as kids and maternity clothing – all available from downtown boutiques.   Attendees will sample appetizers provided by Aji, Dish, Japango, Leaf, Pizzeria Locale and Tee and Cakes.  Thanks to a grant by the Boulder County Resource Conservation Division, this year’s event will be Zero Waste.

Ticket prices are $35 for general admission (includes seating and food), $50 for reserved seating (additional inclusions: goody bag and one drink ticket) and $75 for gold circle seating (additional inclusions: early admission for VIP service.)  VIP ticket holders will enjoy early admission into the event with special services ( a mini makeup session by professional makeup artists or an up-do courtesy of downtown Boulder’s Paul Morrison Colours salon).  All attendees will receive a 20% savings card good at all of the businesses featured in the event between March 11-13, 2011.    Tickets can be purchased through the Boulder Theater box office and online at http://www.bouldertheater.com.  VIP Runway Tables (four tops) are also available.  Email Events@downtownboulder.orgfor more information.
