FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
For the third year, fashionistas will enjoy special events throughout the downtown district following a kick off fashion show on the Pearl Street Mall to celebrate Fashion's Night Downtown
BOULDER, COLORADO (August 20, 2013) More than 20 downtown boutiques and galleries have joined forces for a night celebrating all things fashion. Downtown Boulder’s world renowned Pearl Street Mall is the setting for a faced-paced, energetic fashion show featuring fall trends. The show will kick off Fashion’s Night Downtown Boulder (FND) on Thursday, August 29 starting at 6:00 p.m. New this year, a 44 foot runway stage will extend out from the county courthouse fountain on the 1300 block of the mall as more than 50 models work the catwalk. DJ Joie will be spinning tunes to get the crowd excited starting at 5:00 p.m. The fashion show and in-store events are free and open to the public.
Immediately following the fashion show shoppers will head to events hosted at popular locations throughout downtown including: Art+Soul, Chelsea, Island Farm, Nod & Rose, Retail Therapy, Starr's Clothing and Weekends - to name just a few. Fashionistas will enjoy in-store celebrations - from extended store hours, exclusive promotions and giveaways to appetizers & mocktails, wine tastings, music, entertainment, trunk shows and more.
“This has become a wonderful fall event attracting visitors and supporting the local businesses that work so hard to ensure that downtown Boulder is thought of as a premier shopping destination,” said Terri Takata-Smith, Downtown Boulder Marketing/Communications Director. “Our kick off fashion show will highlight trends representing a wide variety of personal styles and budgets. With Pearl Street Mall as the backdrop, the fashion show gives attendees a first-hand glimpse of seasonal clothes and accessories from the best boutiques and galleries that Boulder has to offer.”
The City of Boulder is showing their support for FND with a special parking promotion. Attendees are encouraged to park at the City of Boulder garages at 15th and Pearl streets or at the St Julien garage at 9th and Walnut streets on August 29 between 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Those who spend $25 or more at participating FND retailers and show their receipt to the parking attendant at the exit will receive four hours of complimentary parking.
Fashion’s Night Downtown Boulder is supported by the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District, City of Boulder Parking Services & the Daily Camera.
