Munchkins Ready to Descend on Pearl Street for Trick-or-Treat Extravaganza
Downtown Boulder’s annual Munchkin Masquerade happens October 31 rain or shine

Boulder, Colo. (October 29, 2010):  This Sunday, October 31, Downtown Boulder's Pearl Street Mall and adjacent streets will be invaded by tiny ghosts & goblins, dinosaurs & dragons, fairies & princes, super heroes and even some dressed up as ex-Vice Presidential candidates during Downtown Boulder’s annual Munchkin Masquerade.

Last year, thousands of munchkins along with their families headed to Pearl Street for trick-or-treating along the pedestrian mall, as well as The East and West Ends of Pearl Street (9th – 21st streets), Broadway, Spruce and Walnut streets. Similar number of attendees are projected again this year - with over 60 Downtown Boulder businesses signed up to participate as “Treat Stops”.  Fun starts at the Camera (1048 Pearl St.) where munchkins pick up a treat bag and balloon.  From there, munchkins can roam throughout downtown to pick up tricks and treats from businesses and community groups.  This year, some Treat Stops have partnered with Clementine Arts and Downtown Boulder to offer a Green Halloween.  Several local and national sponsors have provided healthier snack options for munchkins to enjoy.  Green Halloween Treat Stops will be identified with a green poster in the window.   To learn more about Green Halloween visit: http://www.greenhalloween.org.

Munchkin Masquerade is a free event and opened to the public.   This annual event is produced by Downtown Boulder, Incorporated and sponsored by Wells Fargo, the Camera and City of Boulder Parking Services.
