Sunday, November 18 Santa flips the switch illuminating the County Courthouse & Pearl Street Mall
Boulder, Colo. [November 8, 2012]: On Sunday, November 18, the Boulder Chorale will perform for holiday revelers starting at 5 p.m. on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall. Shortly thereafter, Santa will stop by to flip the switch that will have Downtown Boulder shining bright for the holiday season.
Flipping the switch will light up the Pearl Street Mall and Boulder County Courthouse, as well as help the Boulder Chamber of Commerce light up the star on Flagstaff Mountain. This year, the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District will decorate trees along the pedestrian mall with over 35,000 LED bulbs and 300 colorful lighted ornaments!
Immediately following Switch on the Holidays, the Ice Rink at One Boulder Plaza will present Light up the Ice, a holiday ice show starring local skaters. Snowplow Sam and members of the Fairview High School drum corps will escort attendees from Switch to the ice rink. Following the skate show, the ice rink will be open to the public for a special $5 ice skating session (includes skate rental) between 6:30-10 p.m.
Downtown Boulder’s Switch on the Holidays is a free event and open to the public. This annual event is produced by Downtown Boulder, Incorporated and sponsored by Citywide Banks, Broadway Suites, the Daily Camera and City of Boulder Parking Services.
