Taste of Pearl - SOLD OUT!

Category: Press Room

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Downtown Boulder’s culinary extravaganza is back for its third year on April 22

[Boulder, CO]  April 20, 2012 –   For the first time the event’s history, Taste of Pearl has reached attendance capacity prior to the event date.  Because of this, there will be no additional tickets sold.  Just over 500 attendees will enjoy this one-of-a-kind food and wine festival on Sunday (April 22) from 2 – 6 p.m.  (Tickets for Taste of Pearl 2013 will go on sale in mid March.)

Taste of Pearl marks a unique collaboration between Downtown Boulder boutiques, some of Boulder’s most celebrated chefs and the state’s thriving wine industry.  The event features a delectable array of offerings from 15 local restaurants paired with 15 Colorado wineries. On Sunday, April 22 attendees will stroll along Pearl Street – in and out of well known businesses - while tantalizing their taste buds with offerings from some of Boulder’s most well recognized and award winning restaurants and sipping on Colorado wines produced from Boulder to the Western Slope.

After its wildly successful debut in 2010, Taste of Pearl received the Governor’s Award for Downtown Excellence – Best Promotional Event in 2011 from Downtown Colorado, Inc.  This year, the event will feature past participants as well as a handful of new participating hosts (Barbara & Company and GoLite), new participating restaurants (Aji Latin American Restaurant, Pizzeria Locale, Riff’s Urban Fare, Leaf Vegetarian Restaurant & Ted’s Montana Grill), and new participating wineries (Garfield Estates & Mountain View Winery).

"There is truly nothing else quite like this event," said Sean Maher, executive director of Downtown Boulder, Inc. "So many people love it because strolling Pearl Street is such a unique experience compared to most food and wine festivals." Event Director, Anna Salim added, “It’s great to see the collaboration between the restaurants, the locations & the wineries during this event.   The feedback from attendees has been phenomenal.”
A portion of the events proceeds will benefit the Emergency Family Assistance Association (efaa), a local non-profit helping those in Broomfield and Boulder counties whose immediate need for food, shelter and other basic necessities cannot adequately be met by other means, and supports their efforts toward financial stability or self-sufficiency. http://efaa.org/   Over the past two years,  Taste of Pearl has raised over $15,000 to support efaa’s mission.

Taste of Pearl is presented by Flatirons Bank and supported by the Daily Camera, 5280 Magazine, Eco Products, Eldorado Natural Spring Water and produced by Downtown Boulder, Inc.
