Downtown Boulder’s Fourth Annual Culinary Classic Happens April 21

[Boulder, CO] March 5, 2013 – Tickets for Downtown Boulder's Taste of Pearl go on sale this Wednesday (March 6) at http://www.tasteofpearl.com. This year’s event, happening Sunday, April 21,  showcases the talents of some of Colorado's most renowned restaurants & chefs. An epicurean adventure like no other, attendees will enjoy a leisurely stroll along Boulder’s Pearl Street from one boutique (or gallery) to the next pampering their pallets in the heart of America's foodiest town. 

Now one of the state's most prestigious culinary events, Taste of Pearl is celebrating its fourth anniversary by pairing 15 Boulder restaurants with 15 Colorado wineries.  The tastings will be hosted in 15 of downtown Boulder's best boutiques and galleries.  Downtown Boulder is excited to welcome several new restaurants, wineries and hosts to the lineup.  Participants include:

Restaurants: Aji Latin American Restaurant, Beehive, Brasserie Ten Ten, Centro Latin Kitchen, Flagstaff House, Frasca Food and Wine/Frasca Caffe, The Kitchen [Next Door], Leaf Vegetarian Restaurant, Mateo, The Mediterranean, OAK at Fourteenth, Pizzeria Locale, Q’s Restaurant, Riff’s Urban Fare and SALT the Bistro.

Wineries: Aspen Peak Cellars, Augustina’s Winery, Avanti Winery, Balistreri Vineyards, Bookcliff Vineyards, Boulder Creek Winery, Ciatano Winery, Garfield Estates Winery, Garrett Estate Cellars, Jack Rabbit Hill Winery, Redstone Meadery, Settembre Cellars, Snowy Peaks Winery, Turquoise Mesa Winery and Verso Cellars.

Hosts: Art & Soul Gallery, Art Source International, Athleta, Barbara & Company, Boulder Book Store, Design Within Reach, Earthwood Gallery, Gaiam Living, Island Farm, Oliverde, Patagonia, Pedestrian Shops, Retail Therapy, Starr’s Clothing & Weekends.

"We're excited to share this year’s extraordinary line-up with fellow wine and food enthusiasts from around the state," said Sean Maher, Downtown Boulder’s Executive Director.  “The nature of the event puts our fantastic host locations in the spotlight to give our attendees a truly unique experience that can’t be found anywhere else.”

Taste of Pearl is capped at 500 attendees per year.  Selling out the past two years, the 2013 event is expected to draw guests from across the state to experience one-on-one interactions with culinary and wine talent.   Both downtown hotels - the Hotel Boulderado and the St Julien Hotel & Spa - are offering special package deals. The $60 per person ticket includes: food & wine samplings from all participating restaurants and wineries; keepsake wine glass; re-usable wine-carry bag; $5 savings coupon off the purchase of one bottle of wine from participating wineries; and a savings card for discounts and offers from all participating host locations.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Boulder's Emergency Family Assistance Association (efaa).  Over the past three years, Taste of Pearl has given the organization over $23,000 to help those in the Boulder community whose immediate needs for food, shelter and other basic necessities cannot be adequately met by other means, and support their efforts toward financial stability or self-sufficiency.
