After Work with The Corner Bar

Brian Julsen holds the title of Bar Manager at Spruce Farm and Fish and the Corner Bar at the Hotel Boulderado. Whether you are a guest at the historic hotel looking to try out some Colorado craft beer or a local Boulderite on the hunt for the perfect Martini, Brian has got you covered! 

As parents to 2 young children, I try to make my “after work” more of a date night for me and my wife. We get started a few days early by going to Into the Wind and getting some new game so the boys will be able to keep the babysitter entertained. Once they are taken care of we go to West End Wine Shop to get some wine so our night caps are ready to go!

On the big night we like to start out with some wine (her) and an old fashioned (me) at License No. 1. Once our spirits are lifted and our appetite has started to rise we take a stroll west down Pearl Street and more often than not end up at Zoe Ma Ma. The communal tables aren’t the most romantic in town but the full, rich, and authentic food is our absolute favorite. Our night then typically finishes with a show at the Boulder Theater. There is always a large and eclectic choice of local artists and performers from around the country. The small format is intimate, and with so many great artists in town the show is always a delight.
