Downtown Boulder Foundation
Who We Are
The Downtown Boulder Foundation (DBF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created in 2017 to support the civic and cultural strength of Downtown Boulder. DBF's mission is to produce and support diverse and impactful experiences creating community engagement. The foundation provides funding and assistance facilitating public art, historic preservation projects and community events. DBP staff and volunteers produce over two dozen annual events focused on arts, culture, family entertainment and supporting local business. In addition, the foundation supports other community events that enhance downtown including the Boulder International Film Festival, University of Colorado Pearl Street Stampedes and the Adventure Film Festival.
Community Advisory Board
DBF is currently seeking to engage a cohort of community members to collectively advise and collaborate on programs and policies that support and enhance stronger connections to, participation in, and pride for Downtown Boulder among local Boulder area residents.
In order to most effectively and broadly understand and serve the changing needs of Boulder residents and those of our surrounding communities, the DBF is soliciting community members to serve on a facilitated community advisory board.
The application deadline for the 2021 cohort has passed.
The Downtown Boulder Foundation produces 11 signature community events: Taste of Pearl, Tulip Fairy & Elf Festival, Bands on the Bricks, Pearl Street Arts Fest, Boulder Craft Beer Festival, Fall Fest, Munchkin Masquerade, and Light up the Holidays which includes Switch on the Holidays, St. Nick on the Bricks, Lights of December Parade and Freezie Fest. These events are all produced with community engagement in mind.
The Downtown Boulder Foundation is a proud supporter of local art as part of an ongoing commitment to enhance the downtown district landscape for locals and visitors alike. In 2020, DBF facilitated the donation of Bear Hugs on the Pearl Street Mall to the City of Boulder. DBF's Boulder Alley Gallery initiative re-purposes alley and back-of-building doors into works of art featuring the talents of local artists.
