Hey Downtown,

Julie here - and I am back with news of my favorite holiday. That’s right - Thanksgiving! It is my favorite holiday for a few reasons - the turkey, the stuffing and the pie ;) All jokes aside - any time spent with family and friends is so special and even though this year it’ll be via Zoom and FaceTime, I’m determined to make sure the food is just as delicious as ever.

Now, cooking is not my number one skill  - and as this is the first Thanksgiving where I am responsible for feeding myself - I did what any reasonable person would do... I looked up what downtown restaurants were offering for takeout Thanksgiving dinners and I was pleasantly surprised with the options that were available.

For an appetizer, I’m thinking of charcuterie and lucky for me (and you!), both Cured & Corrida have some delicious boards that are available for pick-up.

For dinner, I’ve narrowed it down to a few options:

West End Tavern is offering Thanksgiving dinner that is available for pick-up Wednesday, November 25 between 2 pm - 4 pm or Thursday, November 26 between 12 pm and 2 pm! This delicious meal includes: sliced smoked turkey, smoked giblet gravy, roasted Brussels sprouts, roasted root vegetables, smashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a choice of chai spice pumpkin pie or dutch apple oat crumble. Whole 15-pound smoked turkeys are available a la carte for $100, or as part of a full Thanksgiving supper for 2 ($80) or 4 ($160). Pre-order here by Tuesday, November 24 to reserve your dinner!

Frank's Chophouse’s Thanksgiving At Your Table or Ours sounds delish. Choose from roasted turkey breast or smoked pit ham, a variety of sides and either apple or pumpkin pie for dessert! Dinner for two is $100 or enjoy the family package (feeds 8-10) for $475. Order by Thursday, November 19 to reserve your dinner! Pick up is on Wednesday, November 25 and Thursday, November 26.

Spruce Farm & Fish has a turkey to-go option that is making me hungry! Enjoy herb roasted turkey breast & thigh, brussels sprouts stuffing, turkey gravy, whipped sweet potatoes, broccolini, garlic lemon butter, dinner rolls & a harvest salad with your choice of pie for dessert. This dinner is $50 per person and should be ordered by November 23.

For dessert I'll be ordering this delicious cake from Gelato Boy - with torched meringue, pumpkin spice gelato, very vanilla gelato, dulce de leche, and a speculoos cookie crust it'll be a crowd pleaser. Make sure to order by November 23!

If none of those strike your fancy - more holiday dinner options can be found here.

Thanks to these options, the hardest part of my Thanksgiving will be what to watch on Netflix while I eat...

Happy Turkey Day!

DBP Julie
