Hey Downtown Boulder... It's Sally!

Hey Downtown Boulder,

My name is Sally and I am Downtown Boulder’s summer intern. I am excited to be spending the summer in such a charming and inimitable place! I am an incoming junior at CU, studying marketing and leadership with a couple of certificates thrown in there.

The first ten years of my life were spent in sunny (and miserably hot) Arizona, which was full of delightful memories; however, I have always considered Colorado home. I experienced my awkward pre-teen and high school years in ultimate suburbia, Highlands Ranch. While I loved the luxury of having every chain restaurant imaginable within 5 miles of me, I was itching to live somewhere with more personality and excitement- and here I am now in downtown!

I have lived in Boulder for almost two years now and I have loved every moment. One of the things I love most about Boulder is that it caters to all the different sides of me. Some days I feel my ~soul~ longing for a connection to nature. On those days, I like to stroll along Boulder Creek, especially if it is a Wednesday or Saturday, in which I get to stumble upon Boulder County Farmers Market and can pick up fresh produce. Most days though, all I feel is my stomach craving the delicious food options downtown Boulder has to offer. My favorite restaurants to dine at are Next Door, Bartaco, and Sushi Zanmai. All three of those spots have super fun atmospheres, which make them perfect spots to enjoy tasty food with friends!

I can’t think of a better way to spend my summer than exploring downtown Boulder, meeting lots of fascinating locals, and expanding my marketing skills. I am incredibly excited to document my experiences, I hope you all are equally excited to read about them!

Signing off for now,

Intern Sally
