Hi Downtown Boulder Readers!

It’s the start of a new week and I’m hoping the 60 degree weather is here to stay. Every time it is beginning to warm up, that means Downtown Boulder is also starting to thrive with plants, people… and art!

It is often thought that art has healing powers. With that being said, Street Wise Arts has created self guided mural tours so you can bring the joy of art into your own life in a fun and easy way. They have an innovative and easily accessible map that you can use to get to all the murals. Each artist’s name is listed and you can pick and choose which specific murals you want to see. These tours are so fun because you have the choice to spend either a few minutes of your day enjoying them, or a whole day! Whether you are on bike or foot, you get to see the beauty created by local artists and you get a good workout at the same time!

Street Wise Boulder prioritizes diversity in their artists and murals. Different backgrounds, identities, ages, ethnicities, genders, abilities, and socio-economic are all pillars that Street Wise makes an effort to incorporate into their murals and tours. They have a mission to amplify artist voices and use art as a medium to bring together the community and spark change.

The Boulder Alley Gallery  brings new life to downtown Boulder alleys through art. Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives re-purposes the back of building doors and alleys into canvases for local artists to create works of art. From 10th Street to 1500 Pearl Street, there are a variety of beautiful pieces done by artists that are worth taking the time to walk through. Featured artists include Abby Jacobs, Jerry Shapins, Anne Gifford, and many more.

I really suggest taking advantage of these self guided tours to not only bring some light into your own life, but to support local artists and show them some love as well! See you around!

Talk Soon,

Ally
