Hi,
My name is Ally and I am the Downtown Boulder Partnership’s spring intern. Boulder has an irresistible charm, so when applying to colleges I knew CU Boulder would be where I ended up. Currently, I am a Junior studying Public Relations with a minor in Sports Media.
I was born and raised in Thornton, Colorado (about 20 minutes outside of Boulder), so I have a special place in my heart for this town. I have always come to downtown Boulder to spice up my suburbia life. That being said, once I started going to school in Boulder I realized there was so much more to downtown Boulder that I had yet to experience.
Before starting school at CU, I had no idea bartaco existed. Now, it is my safe haven. Sitting at the bartaco patio with my roommates and a Falafel Taco in hand is something I cherish and look forward to no matter the time of year. I also love walking up and down Pearl Street and observing all the excitement that it hosts--especially at night in the winter season when the Boulder Star is up. I have only skimmed the surface of what Downtown Boulder has to offer. With that said, I'm here to make it known that I'm ecstatic to spend this semester discovering the many hidden treasures within the district. I feel that getting familiar and creating a bond with new small businesses in the district will add even more charm to Downtown Boulder, which I didn't even think was possible. Each week I plan to keep you all updated on my discoveries, of course.
Despite the many trials and tribulations Covid-19 has put on life this past year, I can’t wait to contribute to a community that has done so much for me. While life isn’t fully back to normal yet, I can still continue to glean the joys of Downtown Boulder thanks to outdoor dining and takeout, and curbside pickup options. Hopefully once this is all over, the little things in life will be even more sweet! In the meantime, I am excited to keep you up-to-date on everything Downtown Boulder related.
