This clay hand-building workshop is for all who are interested in working with their hands to make beautiful and functional ceramics this winter/spring. Join Bridget Dorr, a local professional ceramic artist, in creating interesting ceramic pieces of your own!

In this six-week course, participants will learn the fundamentals of hand-building with clay. Rather than working with a potter's wheel, workshop participants will use the method of slab rolling and assembling to make functional wares. All materials such as clay, glaze, and tools are included in the workshop cost.

Each week we will cover a specific technique within hand-building, building upon our skills week by week. We'll start with single slab building in week 1 and work up to constructing mugs over the course of the workshop. With plenty of time in between to create pieces you've been dreaming of making. All participants will learn how to glaze their work and will finish their pieces by the end of this course.

Seasoned artists as well as beginners are welcome. Participants will complete this workshop knowing how to create mugs, cups, bowls, dishes, wall hangings, and much more. Expect to leave with many hand-built ceramics to give as gifts or keep for yourself!
