Instructors: Niki Dewart and Darcie Shively

Join Niki Dewart, local author of The Wild & Sacred Feminine Deck, and fiber artist Darcie Shively (@awovenchannel) in a unique workshop that invites the intuition to guide a ritual practice of weaving together the wild and sacred parts of ourselves. Drawing inspiration from Darcie’s show “Reply Hazy, Try Again” at The New Local Annex, we begin by opening to the creative processes at play in the universe. We then introduce how to use an oracle deck to tap one’s sixth sense and invoke the wild and sacred within. Finally, we become weavers, following these threads to create one-of-a-kind tapestries that reflect the warp and weft of our lives. No weaving experience necessary.

About the Instructors:

Niki Dewart devotes herself to living deeply and courting the sacred feminine. Over the past twenty-five years, she has traveled worldwide to immerse herself in spiritual traditions and sit with wisdom keepers. Weaving these threads of insight and wonder, she now writes books, designs sacred spaces, and leads rituals and retreats that nurture the creative feminine soul. Niki is co-author of The Wild & Sacred Feminine Deck (Shambhala 2022), The Mother’s Wisdom Deck (Sterling 2012) and Sacred Motherhood (North Atlantic 2016).

Darcie Shively is a Boulder-based artist who works primarily in tapestry. Her weavings employ chance & the unknown as a way to create pattern. Through randomized color combinations and patterns, her work evokes a sense of giving up control & letting something be what it is. Currently on view at The New Local Annex are some of her "Records of Chance" and "Embracing Chaos" weavings. These are available for personalized commission.
