In this weekly class, your student will explore the captivating realm of outdoor cyanotypes, often referred to as "sun prints." They will learn how to plan their compositions as well as integrate mixed media elements such as acrylic paint, watercolor, and colored pencil to take their cyanotypes to the next level. Additionally, our artists will venture into the world of analogue printmaking techniques, immersing themselves in the enchanting world of botanical prints on gelli plate, the mesmerizing art of kitchen lithography, as well as hand carving block prints to create their own stamps. My hope is that your teen leaves this class with new excitement, confidence, and tools to continue experimenting with their artmaking at home!

About the Instructor:

Kristen is an abstract, mixed media artist who has been painting her whole life and professionally for the last 12 years. She has two daughters ages 9 and 6 who have grown up participating in daily studio activities. Kristen has learned through years of practical experience how to invite children into the creative process in a way that leaves room for them to explore and shed the need for everything to turn out “perfect” while also developing an eye for what makes a painting work. She is used to cleaning up messes and embraces them as part of the process.
