Open Light Energy

For Melissa Dawe, returning to Colorado was more than a move, it was a homecoming. Born in the state and raised between the mountains, the coast, and a few places in between, she chose to come back in 2006 to raise her family and reconnect with the land that always felt like home. Boulder’s unique blend of nature, creativity, and conscious community became the perfect foundation for both her personal growth and, eventually, the heart of her business: Open Light Energy.
After decades in finance and IT, Melissa experienced a series of life shifts that inspired her to step away from the corporate world and realign her work with her values. She spent two years day trading, giving herself space to rediscover what life could look like outside of rigid structure. That period of reflection opened the door to something new—managing local crystal shops, where she found herself drawn to creating meaningful, heart-centered spaces for connection and healing.
With encouragement from the community and a leap of faith, Open Light Energy came to life in 2025. The shop quickly became a reflection of Melissa’s vision: a welcoming place for exploration, mindfulness, and transformation. Her decision to open downtown was rooted in the energy of the area itself. Boulder’s spirit of curiosity, creativity, and openness aligned perfectly with what she wanted to offer.
Melissa finds inspiration in growth and transformation, both her own and with others. She’s especially moved by people who trust their intuition and embrace change, even when it’s challenging. That same quiet, transformative energy guides the space she’s created, where one crystal, conversation, or moment of reflection can shift someone’s entire day.
Supporting Open Light Energy can be as simple as following along on social media or stopping by to explore the shop. Every purchase and kind word helps keep this independent, heart-centered business thriving. Visitors can also experience the space through donation-based tarot or Reiki chair sessions, designed to offer a taste of the calm, connected energy at the core of Open Light Energy.
