Taste buds delight at second annual Taste of Pearl (food and wine festival) in Downtown Boulder

From the heart of America’s Foodiest Town, this culinary extravaganza features 15 of Boulder’s finest restaurants paired with Colorado’s top wineries for an unforgettable afternoon of tastings along the picturesque Pearl Street Mall

[Boulder, CO]  March  23, 2011 –   Bon Appétit's Foodiest Town in America is getting ready to showcase restaurants that have helped propel Boulder to “epicurean” heights in recent years.  On Sunday, May 1 during Downtown Boulder’s Taste of Pearl event attendees will stroll along Pearl Street – in and out of well known businesses including: Art & Soul Gallery, Art Source International, Boulder Arts & Crafts, Boulder Book Store, Common Era, DecorAsian, Earthwood Gallery, Lilli, momentuM, Outdoor Divas, Pedestrian Shop, SmithKlein Gallery, Starr's Clothing, Weekendsand Wenger Swiss Army- while tantalizing their taste buds with offerings from some of the town’s  most well recognized and award winning restaurants.  This year’s participants include: Black Cat, Brasserie Ten Ten, Centro Latin Kitchen, Flagstaff House, Frasca Food & Wine, Gondolier on Pearl, Happy, Jax, Mateo,  The Mediterranean, OAK at Fourteenth, The Pinyon, The Rib House, Salt and West End Tavern.

Whether sampling Frasca Food & Wine’s award-winning, culinary masterpieces inspired by Friuli-Venezia Giulia; enjoying the soulful farm to table creations from Black Cat Chef/Farmer Eric Skokan; or tasting offerings courtesy of  OAK at Fourteenth’s Chef/Owner Steven Redzikowski’s New American, seasonally inspired cuisine, attendees will revel in the heavenly food and distinctive Colorado wines from Augustina's Winery, Balistreri Vineyards, Bethlehem Cellars, Bookcliff Vineyards, Boulder Creek Winery, Ciatano Winery,Dithyramb Winery, Garrett Estate Cellars, Guy Drew Vineyards,Jack Rabbit Hill Winery, Redstone Meadery, Settembre Cellars, Snowy Peaks Winery, Turquoise Mesa Winery and Verso Cellars.

The event transforms some of downtown's most beloved galleries and boutiques into the ultimate gastronomic paradise."

Tickets are $52.80 and can be purchased online now at http://www.tasteofpearl.com.  A portion of the events proceeds will benefit the Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA), a local non-profit helping those in Broomfield and Boulder counties whose immediate need for food, shelter and other basic necessities cannot adequately be met by other means, and supports their efforts toward financial stability or self-sufficiency. http://efaa.org/
