Downtown Insider with Fair Trade Winds

Taylor Finch moved to Boulder seven years ago for college and just couldn't bring herself to leave. She now is the General Manager at Fair Trade Winds, a shop on the East End of Pearl Street filled with Fair Trade treasures. For the past 10 years downtown, Fair Trade Winds has strived to create and inspire social change by providing a socially responsible choice to everyday purchases.

When I’m not at Fair Trade Winds you can probably find me enjoying one of the many trails we are fortunate to have here in Boulder, or taking in a show at the Boulder Theater. I feel so grateful that I am able to work for a business that shares my personal values of empowering artisans around the world and protecting our environment.

My ideal day downtown would start at Ozo on the East End for some fair trade (and delicious) coffee. It is important for me to know where the products I buy come from, and Ozo makes sure their coffee beans are sourced in the most ethical way possible.

If I am in the mood to shop I’ll hit Rebecca’s Apothecary to browse their therapeutic spritzers and spa and wellness items. Next, I’ll stop by Bliss to pick up some fun gifts for my pals.

If I feel like splurging I’ll get a fun and funky haircut at Voodoo (plus they have Kombucha on tap!). I would wind down my day with some friends at Mountain Sun with some classic pub food and craft beer. Or if I’m feeling fancy I would head over to License No. 1 for the best Manhattan in town.

Why Downtown?

One of my favorite parts about being a member of this thriving community is that I am almost always guaranteed to run into a friendly face when out and about!
