Hey downtown,
Kate here! I am so excited to be spending my first summer in Boulder this year. I have heard nothing but great things. This didn't come as a shock, because what’s not to love? From the consistent great weather to all that downtown has to offer, I have been having the best time. Follow along for some of my favorite things that I have done so far and what I am looking forward to checking off my summer bucket list…
- Boulder County Farmers Market
Every Wednesday and Saturday we are lucky enough to have an entirely Colorado-produced farmers market, on 13th Street between Arapahoe Avenue & Canyon Boulevard. The Boulder County Farmers Market vendors sell everything from produce to pizza to skincare and so much more. Save yourself a trip to the grocery store and shop locally from strictly Colorado-produced goods. The farmers market can be a fun start to your weekend on Saturday mornings from 8am-2pm, or a midweek, after work pick-me-up on Wednesdays from 3:30pm-7:30pm. It is one thing that I look forward to each week and never want to miss!
2. Bands on the Bricks
My favorite thing about summer is getting to see and hear live music outdoors! Every Wednesday at 7pm from now until July 31st head down to the 1300 Block of the Pearl Street Mall for Bands on the Bricks. Come a little early - starting at 5:30 pm to enjoy the beer garden and opening acts). Enjoy FREE live music, right on the bricks with a variety of genres each week. Grabbing a bite to eat at one of your favorite restaurants, paired with listening to a new favorite local band, is the perfect way to spend a summer night. Whether you are into jazz, classic rock, reggae or anything in between, Bands on the Bricks has you covered!
3. Summer Sidewalk Sale
Something else to look forward to…starting on July 12th, several downtown Boulder shops will host amazing deals during the annual Summer Sidewalk Sale. Stores all across downtown will be participating and you will not want to miss out on these outstanding deals. Whether you're into fashion, books or just about anything in between, this is the time for you. Head to downtown for the best deals of the summer starting July 12th, I know I’ll be there!
4. Rooftop Dining
A simple pleasure I have added into my weekly schedule is a dinner or drink at one of downtown’s beautiful rooftop restaurants. With impeccable views and food to die for, there isn't much else you will need for a perfect summer evening! There are many options for this kind of night throughout downtown, however my current favorites are Rosetta Hall, Rio Grande, Corrida Boulder and Avanti Food & Beverage. All of these spots have incredible views of the Flatirons and an array of gluten-free options, making them staples for my weekly ventures.
I can’t wait to see what you check off your summer bucket list!
See you around,
Kate
