Hello,

My name is Cash and I’m the Downtown Boulder Partnership’s fall intern. I have lived in Boulder for a large portion of my life and have a love for downtown Boulder and its treasures. I am currently a Senior at CU Denver studying Communication with a minor in Sociology and a Certificate in Strategic Communications.

I live in North Boulder (it’s only about a 12 minute commute to downtown) and for the longest time, I thought I knew all there was to know about the downtown district, but I was wrong. I had lived in Aurora for nine months for school up until the start of quarantine and once I moved back to Boulder, one of my first stops was to visit downtown and see what stores were still around and what had changed. I was pleasantly surprised to see the store (old and new) still around and lively.

The changes have made me want to expand the list of stores, restaurants and events that I recommend to friends and family who visit. I can’t be much of a tour guide if I don’t know the seasonal events, places to eat & rest and best local shopping locations from an inside perspective. Downtown Boulder is a unique experience and I want to discover everything that I can. To help me get organized, I have started a list of a few places I want to check out during my time with the Downtown Boulder Partnership. The good news for you is that I’m taking you with me through this blog! Here’s what to expect over the next few months.  On the top of my list is the famous Foolish Craig's. The amount of times I have walked past this restaurant while heading to my favorite poster shop, Poster Scene, is more than I would like to admit and I have never stopped in to try their food. I heard that their Corn Beef Hash and Crepes are amazing. The second spot I want to check out is Crystal Joys located on the East End of Pearl Street. They mix my love for jewelry and crystals, what’s not to love? They have fine jewelry, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and more. Moving on to the Pearl Street Mall, I want to visit Avanti Boulder. The former tenant, the Cheesecake Factory, was on my bucket list of places to try for the longest time and I was told that Avanti has an amazing rooftop, delicious food options, and a lot of great energy. This means I must try them out before the weather gets too cold to enjoy said rooftop.  These are my top three but I’m sure I’ll have the opportunity to explore many more so stay tuned!

COVID-19 hasn’t made it easy for some to enjoy getting out and I hope that I can bring a part of my experiences to everyone out there through my blog posts. With a little of the uncertainty and unease still in the air, I’m glad downtown Boulder is still going  strong and as amazing as ever. I look forward to bringing some bright, cozy and enjoyable content to you in the months ahead!

See you soon,

Cash

PS - If you have a favorite spot that you’d recommend I check out OR you have a store or restaurant that I haven’t been able to visit yet, send me an email (intern@downtownboulder.org), I’d love to hear from you!
