New Year, New Adventures!

Category: Boulder Blog

Howdy, Downtown! My name is Katie, and I am delighted to be the spring marketing and communications Intern for the Downtown Boulder Partnership! Being from Santa Cruz, California, I traded in my surfing and coastal lifestyle for snowboarding at high altitude when I decided to attend CU Boulder (go Buffs)! I am currently in my junior year - second semester studying Communications and Business and Leadership!

Aside from studying, I enjoy staying active and busy! I am currently the president and active athlete on the CU gymnastics club. I feel beyond proud to have built this club knowing its positive impact on our student athletes. I have always had a passion for gymnastics, and I look forward to supporting the legacy and growth of my other teammates! My other passions extend to the great outdoors, as I enjoy water sports, snowboarding, hiking and climbing-all perfect for living in Boulder.

When I am not studying, doing handstands or playing in the snow, I love exploring downtown. Whether scoping out coffee trails on Pearl Street, shopping on and off the bricks or scoping out new views, I am always up for an adventure! Downtown has been a part of some of my most memorable experiences at CU. When my family visits Boulder, we have a tradition of eating delicious crepes at Foolish Craigs and having a luxurious dinner at our favorite Steakhouse No. 316. When I crave a break from typical college dinners, I bring my friends for a beautiful sunset view and appetizers at Avanti. You can find me on the East End at Ozo Coffee on busy weekends during the semester. Ozo has a welcoming atmosphere, and their refreshing coffee always gives me the energy to study! On more relaxing days, I practice self-care by thrifting at Apocalypse and strolling the bricks with a sweet treat from Gelato Boy.

As I begin my marketing and communications internship journey, I am excited to engage with local businesses and share my new experiences with you through this blog and social media!  Look for me around downtown smiling, wandering around with my camera and interacting with local businesses…I hope to be a happy presence in downtown Boulder!

This is an exciting opportunity, and I am happy to engage and share it with you!

Happy start to the new year!

Until next time,

Katie
