Introducing POP! – A Local Artists’ Gallery

[Boulder, CO]  June 22, 2018  – The Downtown Boulder Partnership is teaming up with Open Studios to convert the former Starr’s Clothing location downtown into a pop-up gallery featuring Boulder County artists. The gallery will be called Pop! and will fill a 5,000 SF space that has been empty since Starr’s closed last fall. Plans are for Pop! to operate through the end of September and possibly longer based on the gallery’s success and whether a new tenant is signed.

“We know downtown but we don’t know art so we’re thrilled that Open Studios agreed to work with us to curate and manage this new venture,” said Sean Maher, CEO of the Downtown Boulder Partnership. “It’s going to be a tremendous addition to the East End of Pearl Street and will activate a space that has been vacant for almost eight months.” Maher also explained that Pop! wouldn't be possible without the partnership of Unico Properties. “The team at Unico understands the importance of vibrant and active storefronts.  We are grateful that they have agreed to work with us on this venture in an effort to keep the East End an exciting destination for locals and out-of-town visitors during the busy summer season. We owe Unico a big thank you.”

Cindy Sepucha, Executive Director of Open Studios added,  “This opportunity came out of the blue but it was way too good to pass up. Our mission is to support local artists and providing a showcase for them in a prime Pearl Street location is a perfect fit for Open Studios.”

Pop!, located at 1630 Pearl Street will be celebrating its grand opening on Friday June 29th from 6 to 9 p.m. with local artists onsite along with beverages from Decadent Saint Winery and light appetizers. The store will be open from Tuesday through Sunday each week and closed on Mondays. More information is available at PopGalleryBoulder.com.
