February 5th luncheon includes three lightning presentations centered around the theme “connect” from Dave Query (Big Red F), Corey Kohn ( DOJO4) and Matt Chasansky (City of Boulder Office of Arts & Culture)
[Boulder, CO] January 26, 2016 – On Friday, February 5th, DBI’s Annual Awards Luncheon will take place at the St Julien Hotel & Spa from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m The following businesses / individuals will be recognized:
Business of the Year – Boulder County Farmers Markets:
The Business of the Year award is given to a downtown business that has contributed to the quality and diversity of downtown through outstanding innovation, exemplary customer service and/or significant economic impact. The business of the year can be a new or long-time business downtown whose presence has made a significant impact on the downtown landscape.
The George Karakehian Community Service Award – Jay Elowsky (Pasta Jay’s):
The George Karakehian Community Service Award was established in 2015 and is presented to an individual that has demonstrated commitment to social responsibility and exemplified strong community involvement. This person has gone above and beyond the call of duty to be of service to the entire downtown community.
The Ron Porter Achievement Award – Fern O’Brien (O'Brien Law, PC):
The Ron Porter Achievement Award is designated for an individual who exemplifies Downtown Boulder ideals by donating time, positive energy, and expertise. Individual has noteworthy accomplishments, long-standing contributions to the downtown community, and an array of community service efforts. This is a lifetime achievement award for longtime participation in and service to Downtown Boulder.
Following the awards presentations, the keynote will feature three lightning round talks centered around the theme of “connect” presented by Dave Query (Big Red F), Corey Kohn (DOJO4) and Matt Chasansky (City of Boulder – Office of Arts and Culture).
Tickets for the event are on sale through this Friday, January 29th at www.DBI.org/Annual. Ticket prices are $55 (DBI members), $65 (non-members) & $499 for a table of 10.
